P&O Cruises is a subsidiary company and two brands owned by Carnival Corporation - P&O UK and P&O Australia. In 2000, P&O Cruises became subsidiary of P&O Princess Cruises, which merged with Carnival Corporation in 2003. P and O is the world's oldest cruise company, starting passenger shipping operations in 1822 on the routes connecting England with Iberia. Arcadia offers five restaurants on board including the Meridian Restaurant, Sindhu and Ocean Grill. There are some venues on each ship where dress codes don’t apply, so make sure to check your Horizon paper that’s delivered to your cabin each day to check where these are, as they vary ship by ship.

Whether you're cooling off in the water, soaking up the sun or getting stuck into a holiday read, you won't even have to worry about going hungry thanks to the nearby bars and restaurants. Balcony Cabin
Oceanview/outside cabins are with 1 Picture Window and have the same amenities as balcony staterooms. Category LA oceanview rooms are with obstructed views due to safety equipment. Categories NC and NB are with obstructed views due to lifeboats. Inside cabins are with the same amenities and lack the balcony/window feature. As a result of all these pre-launch changes, Arcadia's ship design has Cunard's mast (similar to RMS Queen Mary 2) and a modified funnel (instead P&O UK's traditional funnel). This makes the vessel sistership to Queen Victoria, also to Coral Princess and Island Princess, and partially to Costa's Luminosa and Deliziosa.
Spanning two decks, Arcadia's Meridian Dining Room (main restaurant) features a glass design and a grand central staircase. The restaurant is complimentary and serves good quality food. Breakfast features everything one would expect, from light and healthy options to British fry-up. Lunch is a la carte (including soups, lighter dishes, pies) while Afternoon Tea serves tasty treats of sandwiches, scones, cakes. For dinner, the Meridian Restaurant operates the usual dining system (with two sittings) allowing passengers to dine each night at the same table.

Casual clothing for the day, adjusted to the destination and more formal evening attire are recommended for a cruise with P & O Cruises. Too casual clothing, such as tracksuits or disguises are not welcome. Various restaurants of famous star chefs, elegant bars and shows in the style of London's West End meet the leisure requirements of modern cruise guests.
MS Arcadia cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 1050 staterooms for 2094 passengers (max capacity is 2458) served by 870 crew-staff. The boat has 11 passenger decks (7 with cabins), 4 restaurants, 10 bars and lounges, 2 swimming pools, 5 outdoor Jacuzzis, 14 elevators. Arcadia is an adults-only ship and has no family- or kids-dedicated venues, facilities or programs available on board. My wife and I have been on 25 Cunard cruises and just three on other lines, one on the P&O Iona with the family, so were interested to compare Arcadia with Queen Victoria and Elizabeth. In summary, the ships and their feel are similar, the major differences being the upper decks being accessible on Arcadia but limited to "Grills" class guests on Cunard, so this gives more venues and open deck space to all the passengers.
Arcadia now has 1,050 cabins in five categories, ranging in size from 157 to 753 square feet. As an adult-only vessel, all cabins are configured as singles, doubles or twins rather than three berth or more. Cabins comprise 35 suites, 31 minisuites, 650 balcony staterooms, 166 outside cabins (80 with obstructed view), 162 inside cabins and 6 singles. There are 18 fully adapted disabled cabins with wheelchair access and 12 partially adapted cabins, which are situated close to lifts.
The restaurant's upper level is for Freedom Dining, which means you can turn up at any time. The 2000-passenger ship Arcadia once sailed as the largest custom-built vessel for the British market - this was until P&O Cruises' Ventura joined the fleet in April 2008. Arcadia was not always marked to sail under the flag of P&O. Carnival Corporation had actually planned this vessel to be Cunard's Queen Victoria but later took the decision to allocate it to whichever one of its multifarious brands that could make the best use of it. The cruise ship also sports a modified Queen Elizabeth 2-style funnel, with cowling removed instead of the traditional P&O style funnel found on the purpose-built Oriana and Aurora.[7] Arcadia along with Aurora are adult only ships.
